The TZ Series, which has won a number of awards around the world, is now joined by two new models, the DMC-TZ5(TZ15) and DMC-TZ4(TZ11). Both of the new models are equipped with a 28mm wide-angle lens* that lets you capture impressive scenes exactly as you see them, and a 10x optical zoom (35mm film camera equivalent: 280mm) that, for example, expresses the natural beauty of animals without having to get too close to them. These pocket-size digital cameras give you stunning images from various angles of view. The DMC-TZ5/TZ4(TZ15/TZ11) are a great companion for travelers around the world. They feature enhanced functions that will please any traveler, such as a high-resolution Intelligent LCD that is easy to see both in the bright sunlight of a tropical island and the darkness of a temple interior. A metallic, stainless-steel exterior gives the body a stylish and distinctive appearance.

The Face Detection function in the DMC-TZ5/TZ4(TZ15/TZ11) detects faces for up to 15 people in the frame and simultaneously and automatically optimizes the focus and exposure settings. It prevents the blurry faces that happen when the camera focuses on something in front of or behind the subject, and keeps faces from appearing dark when shooting indoors or against the light source. The DMC-TZ5/TZ4(TZ15/TZ11) does all of this automatically. Once the camera detects a face, Face Tracking follows it even when the subject moves around. This makes it easy to capture the person's face quickly if he or she is moving. The DMC-TZ5(TZ15) is also newly equipped with digital red-eye correction. The camera takes care of the red-eye effect that often happens when shooting with a flash, to ensure attractive facial expression always.

The DMC-TZ5(TZ15) can also record motion images in high-definition (1280 x 720 pixels at 30/15 fps)**. The pixel mixed readout method enables bright motion-image recording even in low-light settings. When viewing, these high-resolution 16:9 motion images will provide a remarkable effect on your large-screen TV***. Stunning full-size movies can also be recorded in WVGA (848 x 480 pixels at 30/10 fps) or standard motion images in VGA (640 x 480 pixels at 30/10 fps)**.The DMC-TZ5/TZ4(TZ15/TZ11) also lets you use zooming when taking motion pictures.
